Last updated: 5 November 2026
This notice explains which personal data this website and its email contact process, why, for how long, and what rights you have (Art. 13 GDPR).
1. Who is responsible
Mahmoud Elgouhari, trading as HighBenchmark, Berlin, Germany. Full address in the Impressum. Email: mahmoud@highbenchmark.com.
2. Visiting this website
This site is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, on a server in Nuremberg, Germany. Pages are served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
Each time a page or file is requested, the server writes a log entry with: the IP address and port of the requesting device; the date and time; the address, page or file requested and the request method; the response status, the amount of data sent and the time taken; the encryption protocol used; and the browser and operating system your browser reports. The referring page and cookies are not logged.
- Purpose: to deliver the pages, keep the site secure and stable, and find and fix errors and attacks.
- Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is a website that is secure and works.
- Retention: log entries are deleted after 15 days at the latest. An entry needed to investigate a specific security incident is kept until that investigation is closed.
- Recipient: Hetzner, as processor, under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).
The domain's DNS is run by Cloudflare. Cloudflare answers the lookup for the domain name; it does not receive your requests to this site.
3. Cookies and your device
This site sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It uses no analytics, no advertising trackers and no embedded content from other services. All fonts and images load from this site's own server, so reading these pages sends no request to any third party.
4. Writing to HighBenchmark
When you email any address at highbenchmark.com, HighBenchmark processes what you send: your name, your email address, your company and role if you give them, and the content of your message.
- Purpose: to answer you and, if you ask for it, to arrange a call or prepare an offer.
- Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR where you write on behalf of your company; the legitimate interest is answering business enquiries. Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where you yourself would be the party to a contract.
- Provider: email is stored with Proton AG, Route de la Galaise 32, 1228 Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva, Switzerland, as processor.
- Retention: if no contract follows, messages are deleted 6 months after the last exchange. If a contract follows, records are kept as long as German tax law requires (§ 147 AO).
5. LinkedIn
This site links to a LinkedIn profile with a plain link. LinkedIn receives nothing from this site unless you click it; from then on, LinkedIn's own privacy policy applies. Messages sent on LinkedIn are processed by LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company as its own controller.
6. Who receives your data
- Hetzner Online GmbH, for hosting (section 2)
- Proton AG, for email (section 4)
- LinkedIn, for messages you send there, as its own controller (section 5)
- a tax adviser, for invoices, if a contract follows
Beyond these, data goes to authorities only where the law requires it. Your data is never passed on for advertising.
7. Transfers outside the EU
Proton AG processes email in Switzerland. The European Commission has decided that Switzerland ensures an adequate level of data protection (Decision 2000/518/EC), so the transfer needs no further safeguards. All other providers named here process data inside the EU.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access the data held about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to have it corrected (Art. 16), erased (Art. 17) or restricted (Art. 18), and, for data you gave for a contract, to receive it in a portable format (Art. 20). Write to mahmoud@highbenchmark.com or to the address in the Impressum.
Your right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)
Where data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)), you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. Processing then stops, unless there are compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Complaints
You may complain to a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), in particular in the EU country where you live or work, or where you believe the infringement took place. The authority responsible for HighBenchmark is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59-61, 10555 Berlin, datenschutz-berlin.de.
9. Decisions are made by a person
A person decides on every enquiry. There is no automated decision-making or profiling (Art. 22 GDPR).
